It is important that Kingshill is engaged in sustainability so that planning becomes action.

We will ensure our children are:

• inspired and enthusiastic to help drive positive change
• increasing their practical knowledge of sustainability and climate change
• able to verbalise and manage anxiety, which may stems from climate concerns
• proud of Kingshill as a sustainable school
• enabled to share their knowledge and enthusiasm in Ware and beyond
• enabled to engage their parents, carers, and wider community in sustainability and climate change
• utilising the school council to remain a voice for sustainability and positive change.

As senior decision makers, SLT and governors will support and drive our sustainable activity.

We will:

• provide the authority and support to drive and embed culture change
• ensure climate change and sustainability feature on the agenda at key meetings (School Improvement Plan development and termly at SLT meetings)
• be responsible for succession planning, so that commitment to sustainability endures in the setting

As the headteacher, I will:

Ensure the sustainability of our estate (the building and grounds) to ensure I sustain good estate management and encourage sustainability through managing energy, waste, maintenance and water use.
