After-school Clubs & Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club

We host a breakfast club every morning for all children from Nursery through to Year 2. It runs from 7:30am until the start of the school day at 8:45am. We offer toast with a selection of spreads, brioche or a range of cereals between 7:30am and 8:15am.

Children have a range of activities that they can take part in, including drawing and colouring; board games; playing with action figures, and reading using our Read Write Inc. Phonics resources and story books. All of our staff are trained to teach phonics and will often use this time to practice sounds and reading words.

Booking for Reception to Year 2 can be done via SchoolGateway at any time right up until the club starts. The cost of the Breakfast club is below:

Treetops

Treetops is our after-school care provision and is provided for all children from Nursery through to Year 2. It runs in two sessions: see below for times and prices.

Nursery:

Short session - 3.30pm-4.30pm cost £6 per child

Longer session - 3.30pm – 5.30pm cost £12 per child

Places would need to be booked and paid half-termly in advance with payment made through the schoolgateway app. Contact nursery@kingshill.herts.sch.uk to book.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2:

Short session - 3.15pm-4.30pm cost £6 per child

Longer session - 3.15pm – 5.30pm cost £12 per child

You can book right up until 3pm on the same day but we appreciate if you can book in advance wherever possible.

We hold two sessions so that children can attend an after-school activity club and then Treetops if parents are unable to collect at 4:15 pm.

Each night of Treetops is themed. We have an enrichment activity with the themes changing each term. These activities include photography, gardening, art, cinema, Lego and nature. We always have a range of toys available, along with drawing and colouring if the children prefer not to take part in the day's activity. We start each session with a snack and our sessions finish with a mindfulness activity, such as yoga, sensory play, listening to music, or being read a story.

Booking takes place via SchoolGateway and you are able to book at any time right up until 3pm. We hope that this helps parents with impromptu childcare issues.

Our current activities are:

Monday - Making and Creating
Tuesday- Games Night
Wednesday - Movie and LEGO
Thursday - Arts and Crafts
Friday - Photography

After School Activity Clubs

We are pleased to be able to offer a range of clubs and activities for the children at Kingshill. Some clubs are run by staff, other clubs are run by outside providers. We choose our clubs based on the children's interests. We ask the children what they would like. Some examples of clubs that we offer are: Lego club, Book club, Cheerleading club, Tennis club, Board games club, Arts and Crafts club and Yoga.

Club updates will be sent to parents when they are available. We change the clubs available every half term so that we ensure we appeal to all interests. If you have any questions regarding clubs, please contact the school office.
