School Improvement Priorities
Our School Improvement Priorities
These priorities were created together with the Senior Leadership Team in July 2025, before the new Ofsted Framework was released. They aim to ensure:
-
Every child will be prepared for a life full of learning – making sure all our children reach their full potential.
-
Exciting learning that fosters a hard working attitude – creating fun, engaging lessons that inspire curiosity.
-
Develop our staff to be the best they can be – we are passionate that our staff develop, enjoy their work, and build excellent relationships with the children.
-
Keeping children safe and happy – making sure every child is safeguarding effectively and feels secure and cared for.
-
Always inclusive – ensuring all children at Kingshill can thrive, no matter their starting point.
-
Working with families and the community – building strong, positive partnerships to support learning and school life
Why these priorities?
-
Looking at the data – We used the latest data about how children are learning and making progress to decide what’s most important to focus on.
-
Talking to the children and staff – We spent time in classrooms and with staff, looked at books with children, and checked children’s learning by talking to them regularly to see what they had retained and where we can improve.
-
Working together – The leadership team work collaboratively to develop these priorities so that everyone is agreed on the priorities that will make the biggest difference for our children.
How will we ensure we achieve these priorities?
-
Staff Development (CPD) – Providing training, coaching, and ongoing support so staff have the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
-
Regular monitoring and feedback – Using pupil interviews, learning walks, Pupil Book Study, pupil progress data, and assessment reviews to check progress and identify areas for support or adjustment.
-
Collaborative planning and reviewing these areas – Working together as a team in staff training, including staff, leaders, and governors, to plan actions, share best practice, and review progress towards our goals.
When will we achieve these priorities by?
Depending on the priority area, they can be achieved in either one or two years.
