Kingshill Infant School

Friends of Kingshill School (FKS)

Our parents are keen to get involved in supporting the school at all levels both academically and socially for they understand that if we are to “Prepare children for a life full of learning” , our young people need to excel with their learning and also develop strong moral character. To volunteer to support and organise community events and, alongside this, raise funds for resources, is an ideal way to get involved.

The aim of FKS is to offer support to the school with school organised events and also to fundraise for wider projects which will benefit the children within the whole Kingshill community. On average, FKS raise around £4,000 to £5,000 a year, through its various activities. In the past the school has greatly benefitted from these funds, which have helped the refurbishment of the playground, to pay for interactive screens in the classrooms, playground equipment, books, as well as buying all of the children gifts at Christmas.

In addition, members dedicate a great deal of time and effort to organising and running specific fund raising events. These fall into several categories and usually attract a strong audience. Quiz nights are ever popular, and our successful Christmas fetes have been the ‘talk of the community’, raising over £2000.

This year is no different and we have a number of exciting ideas which we will be implementing and are therefore most grateful for your support and help to ensure that our efforts keep going!

As a parent at Kingshill, you are automatically a member and can help us either by supporting our events or by offering to help as a member of the committee or as a helper at specific events.
